Jon Rees is currently the Studio Manager and an Assistant Teaching Professor at Ball State University. After receiving his Master of Fine Arts in Glass from the Rochester Institute for Technology he has gone on to work at universities and studios throughout the United States.
Mr. Rees is currently working on several artistic projects that span multiple topics. His professional artistic practice involves a phenomenological approach to sculpture, in which there is a common thread within the subjects and objects of his personal experience. Although formally trained in working with glass as a material, his work incorporates other materials as necessary to support conceptual and aesthetic aspects of the work.
His work has been exhibited in juried exhibitions across the United States as well as internationally. It is also included in the Corning Museum of Glass publication, New Glass Review #37.
He currently resides with his partner and two beautiful dogs in Muncie, Indiana.
